It’s also the home to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. In fact, Livermore made its way onto the Periodic Table of Elements with the highly radioactive synthetic chemical, livermorium. How cool (okay, hot) is that?
If science isn’t your thing, Livermore also has award winning wineries. It was the first wine region in California.
