Not every long-distance move leaving the San Francisco Bay Area requires a week-long delivery window. Some moves fall into a middle category between a local move and a cross-country relocation. Within the moving industry, these are often described as short-haul long-distance moves, regional moves, or short-distance interstate moves.
For customers, the simplest definition is a move that crosses a meaningful distance, or sometimes a state line, but can still be loaded, driven, and delivered within approximately one or two days when access, shipment size, scheduling, weather, and driver-hour requirements allow.
