Read the correct weight field. These examples use “product weight” or product/carton weight where the first number denotes the product. Packaged shipping weights are higher.

Washer weight is only part of the plan. Water left in hoses, an unsecured drum, narrow stairs, and incorrect installation can also cause problems.
Check the washer’s width, depth, and height as well as doors, stairs, elevators, turns, and truck access.
Remove laundry. Follow the model’s instructions for draining remaining water from the pump, drain line, and supply hoses.
Unplug the machine and turn off both supply valves. Disconnect and drain hoses according to the manufacturer instructions.
Use the model-specific shipping bolts or other transport hardware when required. Secure cords, hoses, the detergent drawer, and the door or lid.
Use appropriate floor protection and an appliance dolly with straps; match crew size and equipment to the appliance and route.
Follow the manufacturer’s orientation instructions. At the destination, remove transport hardware before operation, reconnect hoses, and level and test the washer.
Many front-load washers use transport hardware to stabilize the suspended drum. Directions are model-specific: GE describes reinstalling hardware for its front-load models, while Whirlpool advises a certified technician and new transport bolts for certain front-load washers. Do not assume a bolt kit is interchangeable across brands.
Keep the washer upright when the manufacturer requires it. Remove shipping hardware before operating the washer at its destination, then level and check the water connections.

Check your exact model. GE and Whirlpool give different transport-bolt procedures for their cited appliances. A washer has no universal refrigerator-style “wait before plugging in” rule; follow its installation instructions and check for leaks before use.
A rated appliance dolly and two experienced movers may work for many models. Stairs, tight turns, pedestals, and integrated units can require extra planning and help.
